The policy of Listellick National School in relation to sport is based on the old principle of "healthy mind, healthy body". The school has a healthy eating policy and we encourage the children to participate and enjoy all sports. The school has, in the past, availed of outside coaching in the sports of Gaelic Football, Hurling, Rugby, Basketball and Volleyball. Our school teams are involved on a yearly basis in Gaelic Football and Soccer. As a mixed school we involve both boys and girls in these sports.
P.E.
P.E. is held on various days during the school week. School tracksuits and runners to be worn.
Children receive Rugby Coaching from Tralee Rugby Club. During the course of the year 5th and 6th class will take part in Rugby tournaments.
During the school year the children work on their Gaelic Football and Hurling Skills with County Board Coaches. Boys and girls from 4th to 6th class train regularly with the school and take part in various tournaments and blitzs'.
Pupils learn to play the Tin Whistle in class. Our school choir regularly take part in events both at school and externally.
